Making the desert bloom
The Negev Wine Region is situated in the south of Israel. Vineyards have been planted in the Negev desert fulfilling David Ben Gurion’s dream of making the desert bloom. The vineyards tend to be at higher elevations like Ramat Arad, Sde Boker and Mitzpe Ramon. Soils are sandy loam, loess, and elevations rise from 500 to 800 meters above sea level.
